The National Seaweed Engineering Technology Research Center was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2006 to rely on Shandong Dongfang Ocean Technology Co., Ltd. to build. , processing and other major key technical issues, carry out research and development of engineering comprehensive supporting technology, and provide technical support for the development of the industry. After seven years of construction and development, the construction of the central platform has begun to take shape, the operating system and mechanism have been gradually improved, the engineering development capacity has been gradually enhanced, and the drive to the industry has become increasingly prominent. In December 2010, the National Seaweed Engineering Technology Research Center successfully passed the comprehensive evaluation organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the evaluation results were excellent.
As a listed company and a leading enterprise dedicated to the development of high-efficiency ecological aquaculture technology, the supporting unit of the center has always kept up with the needs of industrial development. While steadily developing the seaweed industry, it has begun to devote itself to the development of sea cucumber breeding, seedling, breeding and processing technology. In 2007, together with the Institute of Oceanography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the laboratory for breeding and healthy breeding of sea treasures was jointly established; in 2009, the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology approved the establishment of Shandong Sea Cucumber Engineering Technology Research Center relying on Shandong Oriental Ocean Technology Co., Ltd., with technical support The unit is the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After more than four years of construction, the research and development capability and technical level have leaped to the leading position in the country. However, in the face of problems such as lack of good varieties, extensive breeding models, backward breeding facilities, and serious epidemics in the sea cucumber breeding industry, Shandong Sea Cucumber Engineering Technology Research Center has the conditions and strength to undertake sea cucumber engineering technology research at a higher level and on a larger scale. The relying unit formally applied to the Ministry of Science and Technology, and made full use of the good foundation already possessed by the National Seaweed Engineering Technology Research Center in seaweed scientific research and achievement transformation, and merged the National Seaweed Engineering Technology Research Center and the Shandong Sea Cucumber Engineering Technology Research Center. Third, the marine ecological environment is a very important part of the strategic planning of the Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone, and ecological aquaculture is an inevitable choice for the sustainable development of the marine aquaculture industry and to ensure the safety of aquaculture products and aquaculture environment. Marine algae have pleiotropic ecological effects, and sea cucumbers are an important part of the marine benthic ecosystem. Sea cucumbers can not only improve the ecological environment of sea cucumber farming areas, but also serve as shelters for sea cucumber habitats, attachment bases for sea cucumber larvae, and sea cucumber bait. Therefore, it is very important to study the synergistic effect of seaweed and sea cucumber in the same ecosystem to improve the marine ecological environment and increase the breeding capacity.
